That's the vision - that all high-school age students will obtain the power of a deep understanding of numbers and money. We believe that deeper understanding will earn the student better grades, better academic opportunities after graduation, better career opportunities, and better financial opportunities in life after school.
It is our mission to make that vision reality. Here are the nuts and bolts of how we will do it.
Our program empowers high school students from all walks of life to overcome academic and economic barriers by providing highly-qualified tutoring that enables them to achieve three things:
We believe that having strength in numbers will produce success in what we simply call "School Math" and "Money Math".

It is our mission to make that vision reality. Here are the nuts and bolts of how we will do it.
Our program empowers high school students from all walks of life to overcome academic and economic barriers by providing highly-qualified tutoring that enables them to achieve three things:
- better grades in school
- better opportunities in their work careers
- better financial standing in life after school
We believe that having strength in numbers will produce success in what we simply call "School Math" and "Money Math".
- The result of success in School Math is Number Sense - the ability to understand numbers and use them in our work to our advantage. Having Number Sense increases our potential for academic success and increases our career options (it did for our founder).
- The result of success in Money Math is Money Sense - the ability to understand money and use it in our lives to our advantage. Having Money Sense increases our financial base of knowledge and increases our opportunities for financial prosperity.

The 15-Year Plan of Action
To connect with high school students, their parents, and their organizations via social media and other means to let them know we exist. Target date rolling out a steady stream of content to achieve this goal is May 1, 2020.
To build rapport and relationships with them - students, parents and other community leaders. This is already underway! (We just need to sell them on our program!)
To tutor students in their schoolwork and supplementary learning, encouraging them to take responsibility for their learning. Target date for enrolling our first student is June 1, 2020.
To teach students number sense, or mathematical literacy, utilizing Khan Academy's extensive learning platform, and resources produced by our team. Target date for enrolling our first student is June 1, 2020.
To teach students money sense, or financial literacy, utilizing a series of our own videos and lessons, as well as resources from Khan Academy and Dave Ramsey. Target roll-out date of our first video is May 1, 2020.
To walk with our students throughout high school. Target date to celebrate our first "graduate" is June 10, 2022.
To help our students transition from school math to real-world math. Target date to celebrate our first "graduate" is June 10, 2022.
To train more tutors to create another form of strength in numbers and carry out our mission to more students. Target is to train 100 tutors. Deadline for this goal is August 13, 2023.
To build a facility within a short walking distance of New Hanover High School to provide all these services (computers, meeting places for tutors, workshops, seminars) to students, many of whom do not have access to get to locations further from school and many of whom have early release and would benefit from our supplementary educational program. Target is to purchase and rebuild the dilapidated building at the NE corner of 12th and Market Street. Deadline for this goal is 2025.
To build and staff facilities like the one described above within short walking distance of Laney, Hoggard and Ashley high schools. Deadline for this goal is 2030.
To duplicate this model in other cities and towns throughout the United States and the world. Target is to have ONE MILLION students go through our program. Deadline for this goal is 2035.
